Born from a pushcart on Alberta Street in 2011, Salt & Straw turned Portland into an ice cream destination. Sisters Kim and Tyler Malek run the kitchen like a test lab — Arbequina olive oil, black truffle, Freckled Woodblock Chocolate — each batch pushing what a scoop can be.
